Orange Whip Films is the realisation of a dream borne of Alex Mooney’s passion for visual communication, fuelled by her commercial success and designed to create more moving work.
As Executive Producer, Alex oversees all of Orange Whip's operations, with her focus being producing for writing and directing duo The MacRae brothers, Simon and Kenn MacRae. The boys have recently wrapped their feature film, The View From Greenhaven, the culmination of winning Project Greenlight Australia. Alex co-produced the film along with Martin Brown (Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliette). The film includes a stellar cast featuring respected screen veterans Wendy Hughes and Chris Haywood, and is due for release in early 2008. The MacRae Brothers competed against over 800 applicants to win Project Greenlight and are now directing commercials whilst developing their next feature film.
Matt Harris is also directing out of orange whip films, and his Drought Appeal commercial for Lifeline is currently airing nationally. Prior to that Matt applied his enormous wealth of knowledge gained from over ten years as a 1st Assistant Director on commercials and features to his debut short film, La Croce, which was short-listed for selection at Cannes. Matt is now in pre-production on his next commercial.
Complementing Orange Whip's production resources and helping coordinate the company launch is Cathy Rechichi, who most recently produced for director Nick Reynolds (Plaza Films) winning several International awards, including three Bronze Lions at Cannes 2006 for the Lynx Jet campaign.
On top of this, and following two successful projects soon after opening, Orange Whip’s Production Facilitation division is now being launched in the US and Europe.
